Urtica dioica, the common stinging nettle (brännässla), takes its name from the Latin uro: to burn. Prickly in appearance, yet nourishing, relieving, caring. BURN holds that same contrast: a metaphor for photographic materialities, motifs, and the so-called "byproducts" that shape the image's aesthetic and ethical dimensions today.
Grown out of a weekend of collective workshopping in analogue and experimental photography: vertotypes, nettle anthotypes, pinhole cameras, lumen photograms, water rayographs, and more. BURN gathers the resulting works: images made in collaboration with light, plants, water, and each other.
Opening: Thursday 3 September, 18.00- 20:00
Adress: Konstkollektivet, Pixbovägen 5
The exhibition runs until 1 November.
